Niya R. Pearson, Esq. 

Niya is an Entertainment and Trademark Attorney specializing in business transactions, the music industry, and intellectual property. Her work involves representing music artists and businesses in contract drafting, review, and negotiation across areas like artist management, distribution, licensing, marketing, talent agencies, clearances, and touring. Niya’s client roster includes Billboard® Charting, Stellar® Awards Recognized, and Grammy® Nominated contributing recording artists, songwriters, and producers with over 100,000 units sold. She further has experience in negotiating with top talent agencies and all of the major record labels.

Her trademark practice involves advising business owners in securing their rights. Niya has nearly five years of experience at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). While there, she was affirmed by the USPTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) in decisions regarding ex parte examination and has won every appeal. Additionally, she assisted in securing intellectual property rights for brands by reviewing trademark applications for statutory issues to ensure they were ready for publication and defending agency position in litigation matters before the TTAB.

As a former judicial law clerk for the Honorable Sheila R. Tillerson Adams, former Chief and Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County and Seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland, Niya has experience in legal writing, critical thinking, and assisting in the review of a variety of matters in the field of criminal, family, and civil law.
